PEELS.

ABOUT CHEMICAL PEELS?

Chemical peels have been used for over 100 years to create an even and controlled shedding of damaged skin cells. Each year thousands of these treatments are performed in the United States, including Denver Colorado. A chemical peel is applied to the skin to remove dead skin cells and stimulate the production of new skin cells. It tightens the skin, reduces wrinkling, and restores a more youthful appearance.

ABOUT CHEMICAL PEELS?

Chemical peels are applied to the skin to remove dead skin cells and stimulate the production of new ones. They can effectively improve a wide variety of skin conditions including:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles

  • Uneven pigmentation

  • Shallow acne scars

  • Sun-damaged skin

  • Age spots

  • Freckling

A chemical peel is not a substitute for a face lift or a brow lift. It cannot correct excessively wrinkled or sagging skin. But, in many cases a chemical peel is performed in conjunction with these procedures. Ask your skin care consultant about a complexion analysis which enables us to design rejuvenation and skin care programs for your specific complexion.

IS CHEMICAL PEELS FOR ME?

If your skin looks dull, dehydrated, wrinkled, or tired, an acid-based chemical peel can strip away the lackluster outer layer, revealing fresh new skin underneath.

Chemical peels are used to improve:

  • Brown spots

  • Wrinkles and fine lines

  • Acne scars

  • Skin texture

  • Uneven skin tone or coloring

  • Strength and tone of aging skin

Based on your needs and the extent of the damage to your skin, Our providers help you to choose the right peel or resurfacer for your needs and skin goals.

Some of the things you may notice once your chemical peel treatments are completed and healed:

  • Brighter, smoother skin

  • Plumper skin

  • Even skin tone

  • Reduced lines and wrinkles

  • Healthier skin

  • Tighter skin

  • Better tone

  • A more energized and rejuvenated appearance

OUR PEELS?

Glypro Peel

A professional strength glycolic acid offered in a variety of concentrations and pH levels. May be used : as an enzyme booster, before extractions to soften lesions, a prep for microdermabrasion treatment, a prep with other peels, to soften keloid or hypertrophic scar tissue, a progressive regenerative treatment, to facilitate the removal of ingrown hair.

Best for: It can be used to stimulate natural collagen production, along with diminishing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles over time. It's much more than an anti-aging product, though; glycolic acid also lightens discolorations such as sun and age spots. It can even help skin that's prone to blackheads, whiteheads, and acne by keeping pores clear of old skin that tends to clog them and cause problems. As Eichten mentioned, it penetrates deeply into the skin to reform texture and dullness.

SkinMedica Vitalize Peel
SkinMedica’s Vitalize® Peel is a medium strength peel, which means it is more intensive than a superficial peel, but less potent (and requires less recovery time), than a deep peel. Medium peels such as the Vitalize® peel remove dead or dying skin cells from both the outermost layer of the skin (epidermis) and the upper layers of the dermis (underlying skin layers). By utilizing powerful chemical agents such as glycolic acid and trichloroacetic acid (TCA), medium peels are able to improve the appearance of facial scarring (including acne scars), uneven skin tone, and deeper wrinkles without requiring extensive post-treatment downtime.

Because it is a medium strength peel, some patients may experience post-session redness, peeling, and discoloration. Although this is completely normal, you may wish to take 2-5 days off from work after your peel to allow the epidermis (outermost layer of the skin) to fully heal, after which, your skin will appear glowingly refreshed and rejuvenated!

Continued improvements in the condition of your skin will take place over the next 3-8 weeks, as full dermal regeneration takes place. Although just one Vitalize® peel can produce significant enhancements to the condition and appearance of your skin, we often recommend a series of 3-6 treatments to successfully achieve and maintain long-term skin rejuvenation.
